Bodywork for the Equine Athlete

My exploration of equine bodywork commenced when I attended a 4H leader’s educational conference. Though I had heard of it, I hadn’t been exposed to the possibility of pursuing a career in it. In my youth I had done large animal veterinary assistant work and professionally groomed horses for show barns along with completing the 4H curriculum in veterinary sciences.

My bodywork training began sometime later when I enrolled in and completed an equine massage certification program. On the advice of a mentor I also pursued licensure as a human massage therapist graduating from Blue Sky School of Professional Massage and Bodywork in February 2011. Concurrently I chose to study The Masterson Method® Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork™ —achieving certification in 2013—and am currently a
coach for the organization.

Some additional modalities I have studied include:
JointYoga™, Acupressure, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Precision Neuromuscular Therapy. My practice blends these modalities in manual therapy visits, Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal blends for condition management and aromatherapy.
